You miss the point. Political opinions are influenced everywhere. Comedy clubs are a political venue. No, I don’t think comedians have more “grains of truth” in their acts, to generalize, any more than some random guy’s opinions have “grains of truth.
The danger of this is that the unfounded opinions of comedians are given more weight than the equally unfounded views of the average guy because comedians are humorous and charismatic.
And I write the way I talk normally. I’m not trying to appear anything, the words I use in blog posts are the words I use in casual, relaxed conversation.
Perhaps I should have clarified by saying “comedians who engage in political humor” though, and not all comedians.
Yeah, right. Just how maybe I should’ve said “chefs who engage in political cooking though, and not all chefs,” when I got mad at the guy who said “The right wing are all corporate puppets” as he plated my second course. Are you fucking kidding me that you can have your high-and-mighty blog but you don’t discern between types of comedy? You really just pulled your own rug out, man.
“Comedy clubs are a political venue”? Now I’m done even arguing with you because clearly you’re out of touch with society. Do you mean it is as one makes it? Like how comedy clubs are as much a political venue as Tumblr is. Does that resonate? So everything is a political venue? McDonalds drive-thru is a political venue? Christmas dinner is a political venue? Your life sounds frustrating and sad.
